Hours of sunlight: 2:20 hours
The Moon
Just a short post today, on the subject of the moon. One thing I didn't realize (in my obsessive focus on how much sunlight I was or wasn't getting) is that the moon basically does the opposite of the sun. So while we rarely see the sun, the moon is omnipresent, except when it sets very briefly.
This means I've been treated to some amazing moonlight on my walks to and from work and other events, especially as we had a full moon a few days ago. I will try to take better pictures in the future, but for now, here are a few.
These pictures were taken as the moon was rising, but at the end of the daylight hours, around 5 pm.
And this is the moon rising behind my house at around 7 pm. It is so bright I have to keep the shades drawn to sleep - even though it is supposed to be pitch black at this time of year!
