As I'm still fascinated by the movement of the winter sun up here above the Arctic circle, I decided to take on a little project -- I took a photo outside our office building throughout the day to show it getting light, and then dark again. In minus 40 weather...
I had planned to do it every hour on the hour, because that would make for a well-planned, neatly-organized blog entry, but the realities of work and my bad memory meant that it was more random than that. I also had to do it over 2 days to get the times of day that I needed, because I kept forgetting to go downstairs and step outside to get the shot! Nonetheless, you get the general idea of what our day looks like. If some of the pictures are a bit blurry, blame the fact that my hands were shaking from the cold, as I wasn't wearing gloves.
I hope to do something similar in the other seasons, especially in the summer when it stays light all night. For now, we're still in winter. Enjoy!
